...story was ritual--the end result of building sounds into words into ideas, necessitated by developing societies and social order. From that order arose ritual, evolving into theatre. Theatre served as entertainment, propaganda, record, art, and eventually, marketable trade.
In this development, it has been easy to supplant the concept of art for money-making schemes; some have lost sight of the process behind the art: the liberation of the creative self. It is time to go back to the beginning.
Development of accessing the creative self has been a part of my personal journey: from writing and drawing, to production, design, and performance. As an educator, it is my aim to create connections to potential. As a performer, I strive to actualize that potential, getting beyond production deadlines. And as a person, I seek to be creative.
